Motion Processor Reference Design
Reference Designs

Sentera Technology has a number of manufacturing-ready reference designs that demonstrate the modularity and capabilities of Sentera's Motion Processor Kits™.

For customers who don't have manufacturing capabilities and need support with managing the manufacturing process, Sentera Technology will provide its experience with assembling MEMS based parts and will support customers with finding and managing a cost effective turn-key solution provider. Sentera will provide product calibration and testing capabilities such to effectively integrate them with the third party's manufacturing process.

For small quantities, Sentera can provide the full prototyping solution together with standard or dedicated development kits.

Prototypes for each of the reference design are available for evaluation. To inquire about purchasing products or licensing our designs, please contact sales@senteratechnology.com.

  • 6 degree-of-freedom inertial measurement unit in a 40-pin DIP hybrid package with digital output.
  • 2 cubic inches and less than 20 grams
  • Uses low-noise MEMS accelerometers to sense accelerations in the x, y and z axes, and MEMS rate gyros to measure the rate of rotation around the x, y and z axes.
  • A low power microprocessor digitally filters the sensor data and compensates for the offset, scale factor, cross-axis sensitivity and misalignment of each sensing axis.
  • Temperature compensated for improved bias stability.
  • MEMS gyros are compensated for linear acceleration and vibration sensitivity.
  • User-configurable FIR filters for setting the sensor bandwidth

VR100 Vertical Reference

  • Measures dyanamic roll and pitch angles.
  • Six axis IMU comprising 3 MEMS gyros and 3 MEMS accelerometers.
  • Modularly designed for accommodating higher grade sensors (i.e. fiber-optic gyros). It can be integrated with magnetic sensors to provide heading measurement.
  • Applications include surface and underwater commercial marine applications and many others. The modular architecture allows the system to be easily updated and tuned for any specific motion model, such to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Compensated for sensor bias, scale factor, mounting misalignment and temperature drift.
  • User adjustable digital filters for customizing bandwidth of the system.

  • Measures static orientation - roll, pitch and heading angles.
  • Triad of magneto-resistive (MR) sensors and a dual-axis MEMS accelerometer.
  • Small size 1.5" x 1.5" x 0.3"
  • Calibration algorithms for the compensation of hard-iron and soft-iron magnetic effects of the mounting platform.
  • IIR digital filter removes the 60Hz and higher magnetic noise caused by household appliances.

SDIO Module

SDIO card
  • A plug-and-play implementation of the SDIO specification that includes an SDIO controller, a complete motion sensing sub-system with processing and optional flash memory component. The design features very small dimensions (35x24x2.1mm) and advanced power-management control.
  • Dual axis MEMS accelerometer measures dynamic (e.g. vibration) and static (e.g. gravity) accelerations.
  • Motion-enabled graphical user interface for PDA's and cellphones.
  • Compatible with Palm OS and Pocket PC (in development).

Compact Flash Module

CF Module
  • A CF (CompactFlash) card design that includes an CF controller, a complete motion sensing sub-system with processing and optional flash memory component. The design features very small dimensions (36mm x 43mm x 3.3mm) and advanced power-management.
  • Dual axis MEMS accelerometer measures dynamic (e.g. vibration) and static (e.g. gravity) accelerations.
  • Motion-enabled graphical user interface for PDA's.
  • Compatible with Pocket PC (in development).

Game Controller

PS2 Game Controller
  • Motion control sub-system for game controllers.
  • Compatible with existing games.
  • Sensitivity compensation algorithm achieves "dead-spot" free control and maximum responsiveness.
  • Unaffected by feedback motor vibrations. An adaptive filter allows for smooth yet responsive control.
  • In development: 3-dimensional aim-and-shoot capability achieved by sensing vertical rotation in addition to horizontal tilt.
